Speak Easy

A Question or Two

Have you ever asked your self Why?

How much does it cost to advertise on a Bus stop?

Have you ever questioned the wisdom of using public funds to pay for politicians to advertise themselves on bus stop benches? Should we, as taxpayers, be financing their self-promotion? It's a curious allocation of resources, especially when politicians often seem absent when needed, only to appear in multiples for photo opportunities. We must hold them accountable and ensure that our public money is used in ways that genuinely benefit the community, rather than serving personal interests.

Do you feel represented ?

Have you ever taken a moment to reflect on your interactions with your local member? It's easy to feel like we only see them when there’s a photo op or during election season, making grand promises to win our favor. But how often do they truly represent our voices in parliament? It's time to think beyond the party lines and consider the individual behind the campaign. Ask yourself: do we vote for ideals or simply because we were told this candidate is the one? Let’s break free from that mindset and focus on what really matters — the person who will listen and advocate for our needs, rather than just catering to familiar faces. Together, we can inspire a new approach to engagement and accountability in our political landscape, reminding ourselves of the power we hold in our votes!
